Koni Riley: Owner, Director of Rhythm Elite, Rhythm Express, & Lil Rhythm, choreographer

Classes: Mini Movement, Lil Rhythm A, Mommy and Me

I'm Koni from Mineola and have my Bachelors degree from SFA in Elementary Education with a specialization in mathematics and a minor in dance. I opened DD in 1995, and like all of the faster dance styles! Variety is my favorite routine, because it incorporates Pom, Jazz, HH and Kick all into one routine. I love teaching dance, because of the kids. They are so much fun, and you never know what they are going to say. I also enjoy getting the know the families of the dancers as well. I love music and with dance I get to interpret my version of what rhythms I hear in the music.

Samantha Harvey: Director of Strictly Rhythm, choreographer

Classes: Jazz 2, Pom 2, Technique 3

I have been a part of the DD family since I started taking class as a 6th grader in 2000. After quickly learning my love of dance, I experienced one year on Rhythm Express and four years on Rhythm Elite- including the MA National Champion team in 2004! As a senior team leader, I was awarded the Excellence in Leadership Award and All American Award at NDA camp in 2006. After graduating from MHS in 2007, I went on to dance on the University of Texas at Tyler Pom squad (GO PATRIOTS!) for two seasons. I graduated from UT Tyler with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have taught 3rd grade for four years (one year in Mineola and three in Tyler) and I am now teaching 1st Grade at Jack Elementary in Tyler. I began teaching at DD as a high school sophomore in 2004, and have since taught every style of dance and every age group from Pre-K to high school. Due to changes in my day job, I was absent from DD for two years, but had to keep coming back for some more! Therefore, this is my 12th year teaching at Dance Dimensions and I could not be more excited for the changes in our future! Although teaching all styles is such an enjoyable whirlwind, my favorite style to teach is Pom! I love being able to work with so many visuals and getting to hear the sharp, crisp movements from the kiddos' poms. I also love Pom because it has a lot of similarities to cheerleading, which also has a special place in my heart. My love for dance started at our studio (my second home) because of the passion instilled in me from my examples, Miss Koni and Miss Mandy. I hope that I spread that same love to my students by challenging them with new and exciting choreography and tricks and positive memories that they'll always remember. I also hope that, as their teacher, I show my students their forever growing potential because you are always pushing one another in a family. That's the beauty of dance. It's always changing and growing and never stops challenging us as humans or dancers.

Emmafae Mortega: Teacher, choreographer

Classes: Tap & Ballet 1 & 2, Hip Hop 1 & 2, Technique 3/4

I'm Miss Emmafae from Mineola, TX and joined the DD family when I was 3 years old! I remember crying from being so scared in my first pre-k class, but I couldn't imagine my life without dance. Within my 14 years as a dancer at DD, I was a member of Strictly Rhythm, Rhythm Express, and Rhythm Elite! We won the National Championship and jackets at Power Dance in 2008 and the National Championship, jackets, and plus, a monetary donation in our name at the All American Competition in 2009! A few of my personal achievements include the Fullout Award in 2005, NDA All American Award, and chosen to come back as a NDA instructor in 2009. After graduating valedictorian from Mineola High School in 2010, I was a member of the hip hop team called Dancers With Soul for two years at Texas Tech University! Throughout college, I was very active and served on leadership for the various ministries with St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church! I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelors in Science in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. I worked as a speech therapist assistant in New Mexico and DFW areas for two years and worked as a high school dance coach at Hobbs High School! Currently, I am the Youth Director at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler, TX! I love dancing and teaching all dance styles, but hip hop is my favorite! There's something about going all out and being all funky, loose, and adding in your own unique groove that makes HH such a great outlet for creativity and energy in general! Teaching at DD doesn't feel like work, because I love dance so much. What an amazing thing it is to be able to do what you love and share it with others. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to share with your little dancers!

Chauncie Thompson: Director of Lil Rhythm, Choreographer

Classes: Mini Movement, Lil Rhythm B, Jazz 2, Pom 2, Pointe 3 & 4, Ballet 3A, Tap 2-4, Hip Hop 3, Modern

My name is Chauncie Thompson and I've been dancing for twenty-three years and have studied a wide variety of dance. I've had amazing opportunities to travel and perform in prestigious places such as Disney World, The Navy Pier and a few more wonderful places as well. I have been fortunate to dance along side the Jonas Brothers and The Blackeyed Peas, because of my numerous All-American titles and Championships. Teaching professionally for six years, I specialize in jazz, tap, modern, ballet/pointé, Broadway and even hip-hop. I graduated from Lindale High school as a four year member of the Star Steppers and two of those years I had the honor of being SR. Lieutenant. After high school I went to Ottawa University on a full scholarship to dance on their pom squad and won the NAIA Solo National Championship. From their I came back home to TJC to finish my degree and was very blessed when I was asked if I'd like to teach for them. I was with TJC and Stepping Stone for three years and made my way to Dance Dimintions with this being my third year here and I'm absolutely loving every second here! Im very happy and blessed to have become apart of the DD dance family! I love what I do and I love teaching everything I know hoping that one day I'll make a difference in the children's eyes as my teachers have done for me. Seeing these young dancers smiling when coming into class and showing me what they have been practicing makes my heart light up with joy!
